Hillsborough County was one of the five original counties created by the Provincial Act of 1769.   As of the 2020 census, the population was 422,937, almost one-third the population of the entire state. 

Cheshire County covers 22 towns and one city in southwestern New Hampshire.   It consists largely of a hill-and-valley region bounded to the south by Massachusetts and to the west by Vermont, the Connecticut River constituting the western border.  

Merrimack County is a county in the U.S. state of New Hampshire which has two cities and twenty-five towns.   As of the 2020 Census, the population was 153,808, making it the third-most populous county in New Hampshire. Its county seat is Concord, the state capital.  

The Grafton County Complex is located on Dartmouth College Highway in North Haverhill, New Hampshire.  There are 757.7 contiguous acres of land.  

Belknap County is located in central New Hampshire and covers a 466.6 square mile area, which includes eleven New Hampshire municipalities located in central New Hampshire.

 Carroll County is located in the center of NH along the eastern border. It is framed by the White Mountain National Forest to the north, and Lake Winnipesaukee to the south. 

Strafford County is located on the eastern border of the state, south of center. A 45-mile stretch of the Salmon Falls River pouring into the Piscataqua River separates the county from Maine.
